SUMMARY: Officer Litts took a full-time position in the regular Army and is currently serving
overseas. His official resignation date from the Bremerton Police Department is September 11, 2006.
For the next 30 to 60 days the Police Department wants to temporarily increase its staffing to hire
prior to the vacancy occurring and fill the fifth vacancy that will be created when Patrol Officer Litts'
resignation actually takes effect. The Department is currently screening lateral candidates who may
be available for hire during this time period. This hiring opportunity is time sensitive and can keep
Department position vacancies to a minimum impact on services.
