SUMMARY: Staff recommends that City Council award the bid to WM Dickson for demolition of
the Capital Hill Fire Station in the amount of $54,743.44. In addition to the demolition, City staff
intends to relocate city radio/telecommunications equipment and the fire test pit and cap City sewer at
the Capital Hill Fire Station site. Staff is requesting a budget adjustment in the amount of$120,000
for the award of the contract to WM Dickson and relocation of equipment and related services.
ATTACHMENTS: Demolition Bids/Fire Pump Replacement/Removal City Equipment
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Demolition and relocation costs must be funded in
advance of selling this property. It is anticipated that proceeds from sale will more than cover these
costs. Budget approval is needed to transfer funds from the Contingency Reserve to the Street Fund
and authorize expenditures in the Street Fund for the demolition and relocation costs. Proceeds (when
received) will go into the Contingency Reserve Fund.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the award of the bid to WM Dickson for
demolition of the Capital Hill Fire Station in the amount of $54,743.44 and to approve a budget
amendment to transfer $120,000 from the Contingency Reserve Fund and authorize the Street Fund to
expend this additional amount.
