HomeMy WebLinkAbout2691 RESOLUTION NO. 2691 WHEREAS, the 1999 Washington State Legislature is currently in session; and WHEREAS, there needs to be a consistent voice regarding ferry service requests to the Legislature; and WHEREAS, representatives from the City of Bremerton, Bremenon Ferry Advisory Committee, Bremerton Main Street Association, Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Council and the Port of Bremerton met to prioritize short term Bremerton to Seattle service issues; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED service priorities are: 1. Immediate assignment of the super ferry Kaleetan to the Bremerton ferry run providing an additional 60 cars per ferry over the Issaquah class vessels. 2. Funding for additional auto ferry service to Bremerton in the evenings. 3. Funding for weekend service for the passenger-only fast ferries to Bremerton. 4. Implementation of a comprehensive customer service program in the ferry system, with an outside consultant and dated benchmarks for improvement in service. Improved communication within the ferry system itself and with customers when vessels are to be reassigned and when vessels are out of service. b. Improved cleanliness on the vessels especially health issues related to the bathrooms. SIGNED this 23rd day of February 1999. Lynn S. Horton, Mayor Mike Shepherd, Council President
