A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE COUTTS APPLICATION
FOR A SHORELINE SETBACK VARIANCE (SLV 98-0002)
WHEREAS, Gary and Heather Coutts requested a variance of a shoreline setback for a
new residence at 922 Shore Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Planning Commission conducted an open record public
hearing on October 20, 1998, during which it received oral and written comments pertaining to
the subject application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission approved application SLV 98-0002; and
WHEREAS, Paul Scheyer has requested a review of that decision by the Bremerton City
Council (APL 98-0016) and that review was heard in a closed record public hearing on November
24, 1998;
NOW, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Bremerton City Council makes the following
findings:
Staff and the Planning Commission have unanimously agreed that the applicant has
shown sufficient hardship to justify the approved shoreline variance.
The appellant has not provided any evidence, based on the record, that this
hardship is not warranted.
The consolidation of permits is not germane to the issuance of the shoreline variance
since such consolidation is not required.
NOW THEREFORE, the Bremerton City Council hereby affirms the Planning
Commission's approval of the Coutts Shoreline Variance SLV 98-0002.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this 24th day of November
