A RESOLUTION certifying an emergency, approving purchase of
replacement pump drive assembly for Wastewater Pump Station
CE-4 and waiving bid procedures.
WHEREAS, a pump variable frequency drive has failed beyond
repair at Wastewater Pump Station CE-4 on February 28, 1997; and
WHEREAS, immediate replacement is necessary to ensure the
ongoing reliability of Pump Station CE-4; and
WHEREAS, budget currently exists in the Capital authorization
within the Wastewater Fund to upgrade this pump assembly with
current technology; and
WHEREAS, estimates have been secured for an Allan Bradley VFD,
a sole source needed to standardize pump station operations; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVRD by the City Council of the City of Bremerton:
1. That the failure of Pump Variable Frequency Drive at Pump
Station CE-4 is certified as an emergency situation, needing
immediate corrective action in response to the need for essential
backup pumping capacity.
2. The emergency purchase of an Allan Bradley 1336 + VFD, is
approved as necessary to address this emergency situation, and bid
procedures of RCW 35.22.620(2) are waived.
