A RESOLUTION declaring that an emergency
existed; and authorizing obtaining services
necessary to facilitate Emergency Repair Work
on sewer lateral in right-of-way at 416 Naval
Avenue.
WHEREAS, the sewer lateral line serving commercia!
business at 416 Naval Avenue became plugged on December 9, 1981
on the street side of the curb line. Upon excavation, a break
in the line was discovered as well as another break in the line
where the side sewer line joined the main line at a point 9 feet
deep,
WHEREAS, Backhoe Services Inc. had the manpower and
equipment necessary to expedite repairs;
WHEREAS, it is essential to the health, safety and
welfare of the public that immediate action be taken;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Bremerton,
declares an emergency existed and authorized the contracting of
services from Backhoe Services Inc. to cut asphalt, remove and
replace same. To install 6' PVC sewer pipe and remove excavated
material and backfill with pit run gravel and compact same, for a
total cost of $4306.70.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentica-
tion of such passage this 29th day of December, 1981.
