Evergreen services called by condo manager to unplug line. Their snake broke and they called Roto Rootep to finish the job. Apparently Roto Rootep neve~ went out. 8-5-81 Backhoe Services was called to fix it and broke line where they thought the plug was. The line was broken above the pressure line according to Backhoe Services. They consulted the City to find plans of where the City line was. Due to the steep bank and the tides, it took some time to get the heavy equipment on the beach. Thups. 8-6-81 The Health Department was notified by a concerned neighbor. Health Department personnel immediately went to the site and spoke with the contractor and found that the solids were being retained on-site in a large excavated hole. The contractor had to send to Tacoma fop the proper pipe to meet City specifications to complete repairs. The contractor had limed the area where sewage had flowed down the bank from the clean out. Health Department personnel contacted KBRO Radio and the Bremerton Sun. KBRO radio made public notification the same day, but it did not appear in the Sun until Friday because it was after press time on Th:u~day. Signs were posted at the beach entrance stairway, at the condo's, and on two telephone poles on the r,oads in the area. As the area is private property, it was felt public notification by the news media was appropriate. 8-10/81 Samples were taken in the bay at various points.
