A RESOLUTION requesting the Washington
State Legislature to allow municipal-
ities to share in assessed tax revenues
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton, as well as other
Washington municipalities, are experiencing financial
difficulties similar to those being encountered by the
State of Washington, and
WHEREAS the federal government and the State of
Washington are shifting more responsibility to the cities
for administration and funding of social program, and
WHEREAS, the revenue generating options available
to the City of Bremerton and other Washington cities are
limited,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the City of Bremerton does hereby strongly urge
the Washington State Legislature to enact a Washington
State statute allowing Washington municipalities to obtain
additional revenue through some percentage of the state
sales tax.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Comissioners of the
City of Bremerton, Washington, signed by the Mayor and
attested to by the City Clerk in authentication of such
passage this 9th day of March, 1982.
