A RESOLUTION requesting the call of
a special municipal election on an
emergency basis
WHERE. AS, the Bremerton City Charter was amended
by initiative to provide for a new nine council member
form of government; and
WHEREAS, no other parts of the City Charter were
amended to be in conformance with this new form of
government; and
WHEREAS, many parts of the City Charter are now
directed toward a conmission form of government with
three con~lissioners; and
WHEREAS, the effective date of the new form of
government is January 1, 1983; and
WHEREAS a Board of Freeholders needs to be elected
as soon as possible to begin revising the City Charter
to conform to the new form of government; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Charter has not underwent
a complete revision since 1942;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commissioners
of the City of Bremerton, Washington:
Section 1: That the City of Bremerton City Clerk
as ex officio supervisor of elections of the City of
Bremerton is hereby requested to call a special municipal

PASSED by the City Commissioners of the City of
Bremerton, Washington, signed by the Mayor and attested
by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this
9th day of March, 1982.
