RESOLUTION NO. 1843
A RESOLUTION authorizing the filing of an
application with the Washington State Energy
office for a Grant under the Community Energy
Demonstration Grant Program.
WHEREAS, the Washington State Energy Office is authorized to make
grants for the effective conservation of energy and greater utilization of
renewable energy resources;
WHEREAS, the City is legally empowered to enter into grant agreements
pursuant to RCW;
WHEREAS, it is required by the Washington State Energy Office that
the applicant guarantee successful and timely completion of the project to the
satisfaction of that office;
WHEREAS, it is required by the Washington State Energy Office that
any grant proposal submitted must be a firm proposal for a period of at least
ninety (90) calendar days from the date of receipt by the Energy Office;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON
1. That the Mayor of Bremerton, Glenn K. Jarstad, is authorized to
execute and file an application on behalf of the City of Bremerton with the
Washington State Energy Office to aid in development of:
a. An Energy Element and implenenting regulations as part of
the Bremerton Area Plan;
b. A program to encourage increased utilization of bicycles as
a viable mode of the urban transportation;
2. That the Mayor Glenn K. Jarstad, is authorized to execute and
file with such application any assurances or other documents required by the
Washington State Energy Office effectuating the purposes of the Community
Energy Demonstration Grant Program.
3. The City of Bremerton further certifies that the grant proposals
submitted shall be firm for a period of at least ninety (90) calendar days from
the date of receipt by the Washington State Energy Office.
4. That Ken Attebery, Planning Director, is authorized to furnish
such additional information as the Washington State Energy Office may require
in connection with grant application for the project.
PASSED AND APPROVED on this 13th day of February, 1980.
