RESOLUTION NO. 1848
A RESOLUTION authorizing the filing of an
application with the United States Department
of Transportation for a grant under the
Bicycle Grant Program
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) is auth-
orized by Section 141 of P.L. 95-599 to make grants for bikeway projects
and non-Construction projects; and
WHEREAS, the City is legally empowered to enter into grant agreements
pursuant to RCW; and
WHEREAS, certain assurances, certifications, or other documents are re-
quired in conjunction with this grant program; and
WHEREAS, Bicycle Grant Program grant applications must be submitted not
later than April 1, 1980,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
BREMERTON, WASHINGTON:
1. That the Mayor of Bremerton, Glenn K. Jarstad, is authorized to
execute and file a Bicycle Grant Program application on behalf
of the City of Bremerton and a joint Bicycle Grant Program ap-
plication with Kitsap County, Washington, and/or other govern-
mental entities, with the Washington State Department of Trans-
portation, Washington State coordinating agency, for the USDOT
Bicycle Grant Program.
2. That Mayor Glenn K. Jarstad is authorized to execute and file
with such application(s) any additional assurances, certifica-
tions, or other documents required by the USDOT effectuating
the purposes of the Bicycle Grant Program.
3. That the City of Bremerton certifies that:
The grant proposal(s) shall be firm for a period of at
least ninety (90) calendar days from April 1, 1980;
The grant proposal(s) will comply with the provisions of
23 USC 134;
Twenty-five (25) percent of the value of the City of
Bremerton's share of the grant proposal(s) shall be pro-
vided by the City if the grant is awarded.

4. That Bob Theroux, Grants Administrator, or Bob Duffy, Planning
Assistant, is authorized to furnish such additional information
as the USDOT or Washington State Department of Transportation may
require in connection with the grant application(s) for the
Bicycle Grant Program.
PASSED AND APPROVED on this 25th day of March, 1980.
