A RESOLUTION declaring an Emergency existed and author-
ization to purchase of Thumb for Backhoe
WHEREAS, on Wednesday, January 26, 1983 during the process
of removing curb and gutter on the llth and Callow widening
project, the thumb on the backhoe broke off due to metal fatique;
WHEREAS the Street Department work must stay ahead of the
contractors schedules to avoid down time charges by the contractor;
WHEREAS, Smith Tractor and Equipment Co. is a sole source of
supply for the thumb to fit the John Deere 310A backhoe and the
purchase is in the best interest of the City:
NOW THEREFORE, the Bremerton City Council authorizes the
emergency purchase of the thumb for the John Deere 310A backhoe
in the amount of $2200 plus tax and further authorizes this
purchase as a sole source of supply from Smith Tractor and
Equipment Company.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton; signed
by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of
such passage this 2 day of February, 1983.
