WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton and Brem-Air Disposal,
Inc., entered into a contract for the collection and disposal of
qarbage and sol id wastes from Bremerton on January 16, 19 81; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the execution of that contract
the State Department of Ecology passed new regulations governing
solid waste management in the state; and
WHEREAS, compliance with those regulations substantially
increases the cost of disposal of ga!bage and solid wastes; now,
therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON RESOLVES
That in addition to the basic collection charge currently
imposed upon Bremerton customers, Brem-Air Disposal, Inc., may
assess a monthly "disposal fee" as identified in Exhibit "1"
attached hereto and incorporated by reference to cover the cost
of compliance with WAC 173-304 and the Kitsap County Solid Waste
Management Plan; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the contract with Brem-Air
Disposal for garbage collection and disposal be amended to
reflect this "disposal fee" to take effect December 1, 1987.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this 24th
day of November, 1987.
