RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE PERMANENT CLOSURE OF THE EAST
END OF VALLEY DRIVE AT MARINE DRIVE.
WHEREAS, Valley Drive between Marine Drive and Lower Marine Drive
is a street within the limits of the City of Bremerton, Washington;
WHEREAS, RCW 47.48 provides the governing body of the City of
Bremerton with authority to close a City street as to all vehicles
or any class of vehicles for any period of time;
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition signed by
residents living at or near Valley Drive stating their desire to
have Valley Drive permanently closed at Marine Drive;
WHEREAS, there exists conditions which consist of limited
visibility for automobiles and pedestrians and a street width large
enough to accommodate only one lane of traffic;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Bremerton City Council
approves the closure of the east end of Valley Drive at Marine
Drive to vehicular traffic of all classes.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON THIS 21ST DAY
OF JUNE, 1989.
