A RESOLUTION OF THE BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL AMENDING THE BREMERTON
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP IN AN AREA WEST OF GORST AND SOUTH OF SR-3.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton is considering the sale of a
20-acre parcel of City-owned property, located within the City
limits west of the unincorporated community of Gorst and south of
SR-3; and
WHEREAS, the property is currently designated on the
Comprehensive Plan map as "Surplus Utility Land"; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Planning Commission conducted a
public hearing on September 19, 1989, accepted public comments on
the planning and zoning of this general area, considered options
offered by City staff and Kitsap County, and passed Resolution
No. 89-8 recommending a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to designate
the City's 20-acre parcel and an adjacent 10-acre parcel
"RESIDENTIAL, 0-7 UNITS PER ACRE"; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the City Council
on October 11, 1989, to accept public comments pertaining to this
matter and to consider the Planning Commission's recommendation;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council agreed with the Commission's
conclusions that the Plan designation of "Surplus Utility Land"
was interim and did not reflect the highest and best use of the
property and that the recommended designation is consistent with
County Comprehensive Plan and zoning designations and with
existing development in the area and is most suitable and
appropriate; mow, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON RESOLVES
To amend the Bremerton Comprehensive Plan to apply the
designation of "RESIDENTIAL, 0-7 UNITS PER ACRE" to the area
shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton this
1st day of November, 1989.
