A R~SOTn~Tm~~-~,~ ~.~_,~'~ (~.eclaring.~ the intent o~_ the City of
Bre~ertou to purchase approximately 17.6 acres of
land ~esignated as 8eneral Services Administration
Area "A" within the East Park I~ousing Project,
Bremerton, Washington, whic~ land has been
declared surplus by the United States Government.
WHEREAS, the United States Government acting through its
General Services ~.dministration has declared approximately 17.6
acres of land known as Area "A" within the East Park Housing
Project, Bremerton, Washington, to be surplus; and
WHEREAS, the fair market value of the above noted pro-
perty has been set at the sum of $200,000.00 which sum will. be ..
reduced by one-half~ that is, to the sum of $100,000.00 if the land
be utilized by a municipality for park purposes} and
WHEREAS, t~e City of Bre~erton is desirons of purchasing
the above referred to land and utilizing the same for park purposes;
now, therefore,
BE IT NEREBY RESOLVED BY T]'!E CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0F BREMERTON:
That it is the intent of the City of Bremerton to purchase
the above referred to property at a sum equal to one-half of its
established market value~ that is, the sum of ~100,000.00~ and that
proper application be ~nade to the General Services Administration of
the United States Government expressing this intent.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That_. such purcha~e.~_ be made in the
form of cash in the amount of $10,000.00 as a down payment and the
remaining principal sun be pa~.d according to the terms of a Real
Estate Contract to be entered into b2/ the City of Bremerton and the
United States Government acting throu. Kh its General Services
Administration providing for a pa},-off term of 20 years and interest
on the declining principal balance in the amount of seven and one-
half percent (7 1/2~).
BE IT FUNTNER P. ESOLVED That it is the intent of the City
of Bremerton to apply for one-half of the purchase price of the land
above referred to from the Intera~ency Committee on Outdoor Re-
creation and, if such funds are forthcoming, to modify the terms of
the ~-,e~l~ Estate Contract shove referred to accordingly. .

S~eFinte~dent for City of 13remerton, be authorized to represent the
City of EPemerton, negotiate terms and conditions of the contract
referred to with the General Services Administration on behslf of
the City, make whatever offers are required for the City~ and receive
t}~e contract of sale on behslf of the City of Nremerton.
BE IT FURTHE~ RESOLVED That the City of Bremerton agrees
to abide by such terms and conditions of whatever application may be
required for t~e purchase of the above referred to property from the
United States Government and further to abide by all pertinent
Civil Rights statutes, rules and regulations.
ADOPTED by the City Counci~ of the City of Bre~erton this

City Clerk in authentication of such adoption.
