A Resolution expressing deep appreciation
and full support for Military Assistance
to Safety and Traffic (MAST).
WHEREAS MAST provides aero-medical evacuation and inflight medical
treatment to accident victims in emergency situations;
WHEREAS MAST serves the citizens of the State of Washington with
air ambulances stationed at Fort Lewis and Vakima responding to appeals within
100-mile radii;
WHEREAS MAST responds to apeals of local law enforcement, medical
and rescue agencies as well as hospitals in cases involving civilians in
need of immediate aero-medical evacuation to appropriate facilities;
WHEREAS MAST participated in life-saving missions for 327 civilians
including more than 100 children last year;
WHEREAS MAST missions covered medical emergencies involving automobile~
logging and farm accidents along with births, blood delivery, mountain rescue,
natural disaster aid and other crises;
WHEREAS MAST represents the lessons of aero-medical evacuation and
inflight medical treatment learned in warfare, now applied in the service of
civilians;
WHEREAS MAST is a welcome and irreplaceable service to the individuals
in our community;
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Bremerton congratulate MAST for its
participation in aero-medical evacuation ooerations which have avoided tragedies
and given life and health.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Bremerton commend the aviators,
air ambulance aidmen and crew chiefs of MAgT for their valor in caring for our
citizens in emergencies.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Brenerton exDress its deep appreciation
and full support for WAST.
PASSED bv the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by the
Mayor and attested bv the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this
9th day of October, 1974.
