A RESOLUTION adopting a new statement of policy
regarding the extension of City sewer services
outside the corporate limits of the City of
Bremerton, and rescinding Resolution No. 1647
which stated the prior policy on extension of
sewer services.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes its responsibility
to maintain sufficient sewer treatment capacity to provide sewer
services to all the citizens of the City; and,
WHEREAS, present financial considerations preclude the
near term enlargement or expansion of the City sewer treatment
plants, except under certain limited circumstances;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Bremerton
that the City Council does hereby adopt the following statement of
policy regarding sewer services in order to promote the best
interests of the City and its residents:
1. Sewer services will be made available to properties
within the City now and in the future to the maximum extent possible
in accordance with rules, regulations, ordinances, statutes, and
financial considerations in effect at the time of request for such
services.
2. From this date forward, unless agreed to prior to
the date of this resolution, no further extensions of sewer
services to properties outside the corporate limits of the City of
Bremerton will be made unless the City sewer treatment capability
has been substantially increased prior to the date of such request;
Provided that, Outside Utility Agreement Applications will be
considered for any property outside the City limits where the
property owner has granted the City an easement for a sewer line;
and such sewer line actually crosses said property.
3. Resolution No. 1647 is hereby rescinded.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication
of such adoption this 27th day of August, 1975.
