RESOLUTION authorizing the filing of a preapplication
with the Department of Housing and Urban Development,
United States of America, for Comprehensive Planning
Assistance under Section 701 of the Housing Act of
1954 as amended.
WHEREAS, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is authorized
to make grants for Comprehensive Planning Assistance under Section 701 of the Housing
Act of 1954 as amended.
WHEREAS, it is required by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development that the applicant guarantee successful and timely completion of the
project to the satisfaction of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
WHEREAS, it is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development in accord with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964, that in connection with the filing of an application for assistance under
the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, the applicant give assurance
that it will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development requirements thereunder:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BR~]~ERTON, WASHINGTON
1. That the Mayor of Bremerton, Glenn K. Jarstad, is authorized
to execute and file a pre-application on behalf of the City of Bremerton, with the
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for a grant under Section 701 of
the Housing Act of 1954 as amended to assist in the continuing development of the
comprehensive plan process for the City of Bremerton and surrounding area.
2. That the Mayor, Glenn K. Jarstad, is authorized to execute and
file with such application an assurance or any other document required by the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development effectuating the purposes of Title VI
of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, or for any other requirements of Section 701 of
the Housing Act of 1954 as amended.
3. That Glenn K. Jarstad, Mayor of the City of Bremerton, is
authorized to furnish such additional information as the Department of Housing
and Urban Development may require in connection with the application of the project.
