AUTHORIZING AUTOMATIC AMENDMENT
OF URBAN AREA (FAS/FAM) BOUNDARY
TO INCLUDE ANNEXATIONS
WHEREAS, THE City of Bremerton, lies within the presently estab-
lished Bremerton-Port Orchard Urban Area Boundary which is also the approved
Federal Aid Secondary (FAS) and Federal Aid Urban System (FAM) Boundary
for this urban area; and
WHEREAS, a criterion for the establishment of the boundary line was the
inclusion of all incorporated areas within the adopted Urban Area, and
WHEREAS, it is likely that additional areas in the vicinity of said Boundary
will in the foreseeable future be annexed to the Municipalities and,
hence meet the above noted criterion for inclusion within the Urban Area;
NOW THEREFORE, City of Bremerton concurs in advance in the automatic exten-
sion of this Urban Area Boundary to include any annexations by any city now
located within this Urban Area Boundary, where such annexation incorporates
rural area outside this Urban Area Boundary, so that the amended Urban Area
Boundary will encompass the entire area of each included corporate limits,
subject only to the exclusion of any area where a municipality has extended
its corporate limits beyond the urban-in-fact area for a considerable distance
for a special reason, such as to protect a water supply source, or to encompass
future industrial or commercial property.
