RESOLUTION adopting the City of Bremerton
Open Space Park and Recreation Plan and
directing a copy to be forwarded to State
of Washington Interagency Committee for
outdoor Recreation.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton engaged the services of the firms
of Larry Smith a Company, Ltd., Jongejan/Gerrard/Associates, and Lee Johnson
and Associates, Inc. to prepape a new City Comprehensive Park and Recreation
Plan; and,
WHEREAS, there was City-wide involvement in several meetings and,
also, while being developed, the plan was referred to neighborhood organizations
for review and comment; plus significant staff time by the Parks and Recreation
Department and the Planning Department; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Park and Recreation Commission held a special
meeting on Wednesday, March 30, 1977, which meeting was artended by three
members of the City Planning Commission and the Acting City Planner; and
WHEREAS, at that meeting the Bremerton Park and Recreation Commission
unanimously endorsed the new City of Bremerton Open Space Park and Recreation
Plan; and
WHEREAS, it ls the recommendation of the Park and Recreation Commission
that the City Council adopt this plan and forward it to the State of Washington
Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TtiE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF
BREMERTON, WASHINGTON
1. That the City Council endorses the new City of Bremerton Open
Space Park and Recreation Plan; and
2. That the plan be forwarded as soon as possible to the State of
Washingtort Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by the
Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this
6th day of April, 1977.
