RESOLUTION authorizing the filing of
a joint application with the Environ-
mental Protection Agency of the United
States of America, and the State of
Washington for a Construction Grant
under the Federal Water Pollution
Control Act of 1972, as amended, to
aid in the Financing of the proposed
Pine Road Interceptor Project.
WHEREAS, the Secretary of The Environmental Protection
Agency and the Governor of the State of Washington are authorized
to make grants for the planning and construction of publicly owned
treatment works;
WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose
certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by
it of the local share of project costs; and
WHEREAS, it is required by the Enviromental Protection
Agency, in accord with the provisions of TITLE VI of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964, that in connection with the filing of an applica-
tion for assistance under Federal Water Pollution Control Act of 1972,
as amended, the applicant give an assurance that it will comply with
TITLE VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Environmental Protection
Agency requirements thereunder:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Bremerton, Washington:
1. That the Mayor, Glenn K. Jarstad, is authorized to
execute and file a joint application on behalf of the City of Bremerton
with the Envirormental Protection Agency and the State of Washington
to aid in the financing for the construct[on of wastewater treatment
Facilities in the City of Bremerton.
2. That the Mayor, Glenn K. Jarstad, is authorized to
execute and file with such application an assurance or any other
document required by the Environmental Protection Agency and the
State of Washington effectuating the purposes of TITLE VI of the
Civil Rights Act of 1964.
5. That Robert D. Theroux, Grants Administrator, is
authorized to furnish such additional information as the Environ-
mental Protection Agency and the Statc of Washington may require
in connection with the application or the project.
