The <]ity Council of the City of Bremerton d.o ordain as,follows: ~ec. 1. It shall be m~lawfful i'or any person, persons, ,firm or oration to conduct azny public dance hall to which the ~eueral public ted, without fir~t having obtained from the City Clerk a license herefor. ~ ' Sec. 2. The fees for a public da;me hall stall be the sz.un off One ~dred 2ifty ~,;~l~O.O0) Dollars per aunz~m~, same to ~eoome due and payable hot le~s than quarterly in Sec. 3. Any ~erson, persons, firm or corporation desiring to conduct or,operate any public dance hall as herein provided, shall m~ke ~pplication to the City,-~Council a~ being ?anted a permi~ shall pay ~he City ~reasurer the sum of nos less than Thirsty-seven and 50/100 (~Z7.50) Dollars ~n present~tio~ of a receipt from said Treasurer, the Czt./ (,lerk ~hall epare and del~ver to such appllc~:t a licehse for the period ~;o which the . ~has been paid for the operation of such da~nce hall stating the e~act ~cation where the s~a/ae Shall be operated, and nd Eransffer thereof to any er location shall be permitted exgept under and by consent of the City in regular session first having been ~d and obtained thereof. Sec. 4. It sh~tl be ~n~lawful for a~y person, p~raons, firm or ~ration conducting cz- opei'~ting any su. oh j~ublic dance hall ~o pe~mit ny--lewd, lascivious or disorderly behavior or cenduct in said Public or permit any l~d, lascivious, drunken or-disorderly peri, ohs ~o 3it or attend Said ~blic dance, and it shall be th~ duSy of any and all ~ch persons persons, ~rm or corperation, upon dis'eove~ing~any of the per- , hereinabove referr~dh to, in such .public dance h~ll to i~ediately ~ve the Same, and iff necessary, ~ call to hi~ assi~tance any citizen officer for ~l~a~ purpose. Sec. 5. It shall be unlawful for any person, pereons, firm or ,oratlo~'~ ~o allow or permi~ any minor ohlld under the age o.~ .ei~h~een ,~) ~e~rs to loiter ~boub or attend m~y D~blic d~.~ce uuless said ~:~u~,-~ e accm~panied witk, and ~u~der the control of its parent, guardian or . ~e the duty ef s.u~)~ pe~sSn, havin~ charge of said child, and it shall ~ , ~irm or corporation, upon attead~ such minor child and dire(~t that t]~e s~iue be t~ken to its home or pla~e of residence. Sec. 6. It shall be ~a~vful for any such ~erson, p~rsons, fi~'~_~ or oor~?)oration ~o conduct any public dance for au~y ti~ longer than ~(elve (12) o'clock midnight of any day upon ,,~hioh ~m~ da~nce ~ay be ]~eld, nor upon the first day of the week co]'n~only called .Sunday. Sec. 7. It shall be ~lawful for any such per, son, -~._~ersons, fir~.~ o~' corporation to sell, cause to be sold, or permitted to be sold or othervrise disposed of, at, near, in connection with, or in sai..(l puBli6 dance hall, any intoxicating liquor, or per-miS sa~e to be used, drank, given away o~ other~'~ise disposed of in or in co~eotiqn v~ith s~id public ~ Sec. ~. It sh~ll be the duty ~of any s~ch person, persons, fi~ or corpor~nta~in a clean,~ s~nit~ able and~orderly place, and to prevent a~y t e nd ing te oentributm to the delinquincy of any minor child or ~e connected therev~ith ~r i~ attendande thereon. Sec. 9. The provisions of this Ordi~ance shall not be con~trued to refer to regu~arl~ org~aized lodge~ acting ~uder a charter, nor~ to societies organized for lodge, 9haritable or social pu~!ose~ and orga~ized for the Durposes of ~void~g the provisions of mth.is Ordlnau.$e. Sec. lO. ~h~y person, persons, Fir~ or corpora~tion violating the pro~sions of this Ordinance shall be deemed ~ilty of ~ misdemeanor and upon conviction the~?~eof, shall be fined in a s~ not ~exceeding Three Hundred ~o00.00) Doll~rs, or by impriso~ent in the City Jail no~ ceeding ninety ~90) da~ys, or bo~h such fine a~n~ imprisonment~, ~and sscond conviction, s~ll forfeit their license and the f~e Daid therefor.
