and to be prepared, and on file in the office o~ the City'b~ngineer of the City
of Bremerton, and all in accordance with a resolution passed by t. he City Council
on ~he 19~h day of Liarah, 191Z, creating ~ local improvement district t}:erefor
gnd providing for pa~neng of maid improvement bo be made by special assess-
ment on proper~y in said district, '~yable by mode of pa~ant by bonds.
The City Council of the Oi~y of Bremerton do ordain as follows:
Bec~ion 1. :That .~aka ~treet from hh~, ~outh mar~f:in of ~o~rth Street
~a ~he Navy Yard ~ence, ~o be improved by grading, sidew~lking o~ bo~ sides
with a five foot ~) sidewalk, ~nd ~tering on both sides with a wooden
curb and ~tter, with a ~va ~2) foot parking strip next to the property line
and a five (5) foot parki~ strip between ~he sidewalk and curb, on both
sides, m~d by do, lng such other and further work as m~y he necessary and
proper in connection therewith, in accord~nce with plans prepared, and
be prepared and on file in the office of the Ci~ Engineer o:~ the City
Bremerfion and all i~ accordance with a resolute'on passed by the City Cmmcil
on ~he 178h day of "~arch, 191~, creating a local i~proMement di:-~,~ct
therefor and providing i'or payment of said im[,rovemen~ to be made by spec-
ial ~.~ssessment on property in said disfiricb, ~ayable by mode of pa~nnent by
bonds.
Section 2. That the entire cost and e~ense of said improvement,
including all necessary and incide~tal expenses shall be borue by and asse~s-'
ed against the property included in ~he assessmen~ distric~ hereinafter creat-
ed, i~ accordance ~;,ith the laws of the ~tate of ;Vashington. The City of
Bremerton shall not be liable in any manner for any portion of the cost
and expense of said improvement.
Section ~. That t~'~ere ~s ~e eby established a local improvement
Distrio-t .~.e~"~oalled "Local Improvement District No. 6~" which said
is ~escribed as follows: ,Yll the ,~roperty witl~in the ~ermini o~ said i~p-
rovement, being upon, adjacent, vicinal or proximate to said port;ion off said
stree~ ~o a distance to the marg'inal li~es thereof as are provided by law.
Section 4. Bonds bearinh interest at ~he rate of not to exceed
seven ~) per cent per anm~m, payable on or before ten {lO) years l'rom date
of issuance, shall be issued in pa~uent of ~he cost and ~:Hense of this
improvement, which bonds shall be redeemed by collection of special assess-
ments to be levied and assessed upon the proper~y within said district in ten
[10) equal annual in~tallments, wi~h interest at the rate of eight {8} per
cent psr~ann~ under bbs mode of ~az~ent by bonds as defined by,'~law, and the
Ordi~m~ces, in redemption of warrants on Local Improvement district
issued on estimates of the Si~y E~'~gineer, or the City of Br merton may,
at its ~lectino, sell said bonds and m~];~e such redemption in cash.
Section ~. This Ordinance shall take e.[H'ea~ and be in force thirty
[30) days from a~d after it~ passage ,.tnd approval, if approved by tlc i~yor,
D~herwise ~]~e stone shall ga~.e effec~ a~ the ~ime i~ shall become a law
~der the provisions of the City Char~er and the laws of the 3tote of Wash-
lng ~on.
