'~tEREAS, the city co~uucil of the City of Bremerton has heretofore co~nenced pro-
ceedings for th. purchase of and acquirement of the elctric lighting aystem which
furnishes the ~ity of ~renerton and the i~Q~abitants thereof and other persons with
light and electric 2ewer, and
',J~HE~',AS, it is deemed to the advantage and best interest of the City of Sremer-
ton to ~pprove ~nd complete all such proceedings heretofore commenced, by the condem-
nation and acquirement of the said li!~hting system or such part thereof as may be
deemed necessary fo.~ the adequate electric lighting and power service for the citizens
and inhabitants and other !)ersons in the ~i~y of Sremerton,

t~ co,~ence such proceedings, now therefore

Oec. 1. Tha~ the Clty ~ouncil of the Oity of L~remerton desires to condemn and
acquire ~nd deem it to the advantage and best interest of the City of Bre~sr~on and
the inhabitants thereof to acquire and take by condenmatton through such a suit or su~t
~s may be necessary, that certain electric light ~nd power system being more p~rttcu-
larly described as the existing light, power and electric plant within the limits o~
the ~'ity of ~$remerton, which now furnishes to the inhabitants of said (;ity of Dremer-
ton and other i~rsons, light, power ~d electric current and furnishes to the City of
~remerton street lights, ~Luder and 'by virtue of a certain franchise g~-~nted by the
City .~f Bre~rton; and the wlres and poles that are placed in the streets and on other
property in the ~!ty of i.~re~erton; and rights of ways and all property owned by the
said NorL~I~ Pacific Public Service Company in the City of '-~remerton; except the ~a in
generating ~achinery including dyna~uos and all the machinery incidental and that
comprises the central power ~;ation for said syste~ which merely constitutes a lot of
machinery on the hands of the said North Pacific Public Service Company; but not
necessary for the operat£o~'~ o:t' said plant and not included within its proper or
essentioal equipment.
Sec. 2. That the said plant and system herein to be acquired and taken ewer by the
City of ~re;,~erton shall be operated and gintaine,~t as a public utility for the fur-
nishing of light, power and electricity a~d electric current for ~ll uses and purpo~es;
a~.'~d the said cuty shall sell ~;o the inhabitants of said d, ity of ~remerton and other
persons using said electrLc current all necessaries, as light, lamps, transfor~ners
and accessories incidental or necess~rpz to ~:e full enjoyment ~nd use of said electric
Current; that said acquire~sent of said. systems is t~aken by said Cit:- Council of the C
City ~f Bremerton to be a public use and such use is hereby deemed and declared by
this ordin~nce to be ~ ~ubltc use.
Sec. 3. The City Attorney of the City of ~remerton is hereby directed and instruc-
te~ to :G-oceed with the condemnation and acquirement of the said electric lighting
system and so nnuch thereof as may ~e deemed necessary ~mder the ter.~ns of this ordinance.
· ~ec. 4 This ,ordinance shal.., b~. in full force a~d effect five (5j days from and
~fter its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
