~/I ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of Sixth Street commencing at a point 25
feet west of the west margin of Pacific Avenue, thence west along Sixth Street on
both sides, ~45 feet, Same to be improved by the reconstruction of bulkheads and e
retaining walls, and the doing of such other and further work as to make said im-
provement a complete Job all in accordance with the plans and specifications on
fi~e in the office of the city clerk and in accordance with the resolution passcd by
the city council ,of the city of Bremerton on the 28~h day of January, 1918, and
creating local improvement district No. 84 and providing that the payment for said i
provement shall be made by special assessments upon the property in said district a
abutting Upon or contiguous or approximate to the said property and payable by the
mode of "Payable by bonds."
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRE~ERTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Sec. 1. That ~ixth Street commencing at a point 25 feet west of the west margin
of Pacific A~enue, thence west along Sixth Street on both side, 245 feet~ be im-
proved by the reconstruction of bulkheads and retaining walls and the repair of the
walks abutting said retaining walls, and the doing of such other and further work
as to make said improvement a complete job all in accordance with the plans and
specifications prepares and an file in ~he ~ffice of the City Clerk and to do all
things necessary in the oremises, in accordance with the resolution passed by the
city council of the city~of B~emerton, January 28th, 1918.
Sec. 2. That all±the costs and expenses of said improvement includin~ all nec-
essary and incidental expenses, shall be borne by and assessed against ~he property
included in the assessment district, hereinafter created, inaceordance with law.
The city of Bgemerton shall not be liable in any manner for any portion of the cost
and expense of said improvement~
Sec. 3. That there is hereby established and created a Local Improvement District
to be called "Local Improvement District NO. 84, the boundaries of which district ar
hereby specified and described as follows: Commencing at a point 25 feet west of th
west margin of Pacific Avenue and Sixth Street; thence South to the center of the
block on the south side of Sixth Street; thence West along the cen~er of the block
245 f~et; thence North to the center or middle of t?:e block on the North side of
Sixth Street; thence East 245 feet; thence south to the point of beginning.
Sec. 4. That said costs and expense of said improvement aforesaid shall be assess
against said property included in said improvement district in proportion to are% an.
in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 168 of the'Session Laws of
1915 of the state of ~'~ashington.
Sec. 5. Bonds bearing interest at the rate of seven per cent per annem payable
on or ~efore five years from the date of issuance shall be issued in payment of
the cost and expense of said improvement which bonds sSall be redeemed by the coll-
ection of special assessments to be levied and assessed upon the ~operty with in
said district, payable in three equal installments with interest at the rate of
seven per cent per annum, under the mode of "payment of bonds" as defined by law a~d
the ordinance of the city of Biiemerton. These bonds shall be delivered to the
Contractor in redemption of warrants on the L~cal Improvement District ~und issued
on estimates of the city engineer, or the city of B~emerton may at its election sell
said bonds and make such redemption in cash.
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five days from and ~after
its passage, approval and publication.
