Sec. 2, ~uch tax all be due and payable from ~he 2d day of ~anuary to the 16th day of ~anuary of each every year,and it shall be unlawful for ~_y person, firm or corporation ~o operate the Oity of oremerton, any motor vehicle, trailer or any expr~ss, transf~r or wagon, or any horse or team for hire without having firs~ paid such tax, provided ~uch occuoation tax may be paid after the 16th day of January in each y~ar and pre .us to the operation of any such motor vehicl~, trailer, horse or teafa ~,'or hire transfer or dqlivery wagon; and provided further that on and after the first day of in each and eFery year such oouupation tax as pro- vided in Section 1 hereof shall one-half of he amount set forSh in said section for the vehicle or team proposed be operated for the remainder of such yaar. See. 3. Every person, firm orporation desiring to operaSe any such motor vehi~ trailer, Sransfer, delivery or ex wagon, or team for hire, as describ~:d in Sectio~ 1 hereof, shall ~ay such tax ~o the ~ Treasurer and at the time of oaying such tax shall make a written s~atement of the and capacity of such motor vehicle, ~railer~ express, tranSffer or delivery wago~, or ~am for hire, the purpose for which it is be used, the mame of the owner of such ~r vehicle, trailer, express, transfer o~ · delivery wagon, or team for hire, togethe~ ~ith such othsr information as may be re- quired by the City Clerk, on blanks furni~ by the City Clerk a receipt for the :honey so paid, ~/~hich receipt shall se~ for~h the i ormatior~ contained on such statement, to- gether with ~he da~e of payment, and shall a! receive a metal ~late f,r~ished by the City indicating tha~ such occupation tax h~s paid, ~,~ith She year for ~hich such tax has been paid stamped thereon, ;;qich metal .ts shall be attahhed to such motor vehicle, trail~r, express, transfer or delivery on, or team for hire, in a consqicuo~ place at all times; and it shall be unlawful for a person firm or corporation to operate any such motor vehicle, trailer, express nsfer or delivery wagon, or ~eam for hire, after the 16th day of January without 9aid such tax and exhibiting suo~ metal plate as required herein. Sec. 4. It shall be unlawful for ~y person, r corporation to transfer such~ metal ola~e to another. Sec. 5. Any person, firm or corporatio.~ fo~d ope ng any such motor vehicle, as described in Section l, trailer, express or delivery wa~ or team for hire, on and after the 16th day off Januaray of each year, on which said )upation tax has not been paid, and knowingly shall make any false statement in secur such receipt or metal plate as Provided herein, or who shall be ffo~d violatin~ny the provisions of ~his ordinance, shall be d~ emed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on :rich thereof shall 0e fined in a sum equal to twice the amount of the tax'by Section n said ordinance pro- vided, or imprisonment in the 0ity jail not exceeding thirty )r by b,the such fine and imprisonment, which fins shall not be dsemed to be a pa of any cart off th~ ~ax herein rsquired. Sec. 6. Ail ordinances and parts in conflict herewith are hereb repealed. Sec. ~. This ordinance shall be in full fforoe and efffec~ ffive da from and a,~er its approval, passage and oubtica~ion.
