HomeMy WebLinkAbout0665 AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of an alley running east and west in Block 14 of the Original Town of Bremerton, beginning at the west margin of Pacific Avenue and running thence west the whole length of said alley, by paving with a one- course concrete pavement, together with any and all other work to finish the Job in a good and workmanlike manner, and to do such other and £urther work in connection there with as is necessary t~ make such improvement a complete Job, all in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and on file in his office and in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bremerton and in accordance ~ith a resolution passed by the 0ity Council on the 27th day of October, 1'319, and creating Local Improvement District No. 9?, and providing for payment for said improvement upon the property in said district abutting upon c3~tiguous and aporoximate to the sa, i~ improvement, and payable by mode of "payment by bonds." D. 1919. Sec. 2. That all costs and expense of said improvement, including all necessary and incidental expenses, shall be borne by and as~essed ag~,~inst the property included in the as~:'essment district hereinafter created, in accordance with law. The City of Bremerton shall not be liable in any manner for any portion of the cost and exoense of said improvement. Sec. ~. That there is hereby established and created a Local Improvement Distric N 1~ . 9 ~ ,' I the boundaries of which district are hereby specified and described as follows to-wit: All of Block Pourteen (14} of the Original Town of B~remerton. Bec. 4. That said cost ~-~nd expense of said improvement shall be as~es~ed against said property included in said improvement district in proportion to area and in accordance with the provisions of Section ~, Chapter 188, of the Session Laws of the Sta.te of Washington i'or 1915. Sec. 5. Bonds bearing interest at the fate of 7 per cent per annmm, payable on or be£ore five years from date of issuance, shall be is~:ued in payment of the cost and expense of said improvement, which bonds shall be red~eme, d by the collection o£ special assessments to be levied and as~'es~ed upon the property within said district, payable in five' equal installments, with interest at the rate of V per cent per annum, under the mode of paymeht by bonds as defined by law and the Ordinances of th.: City of Brem- ~rton. These bonds shall be delivered to the contractor in the redemption o£ warrants ~n the local improvement district fund iss:ued on the estimat:': o£ ~he City Engineer, or ~he City of Bremerton may at its election sell the said bonds and make such redemption in ~ash. Sec. 6. This Ordinance sSall be in full force and effect from five {5} days after lts passage, approval and publication.
