HomeMy WebLinkAbout0660 ORDINANCE NO. 660 AN ORDINANCE approving the gssessment Roll for Local improvement Distz'ict do. 92 under Ordinance No. 632, providing for the improvement of Washington Avenue from the north margin of Burwell Street to the north margin off ~inth Street, by clearing, grub- bing grading, altering or lowez'ing main and latteral sewers providing for the drain- age thereof, and constructing curbs and gutters and by paving with a one-course concret~ pavement or such other cement mixture as is equal in solidity and wearing qualities to concrete, together with any and all other work to finish the Job in a good and work- m~nlike manner, and to do such other and further work in connection therewith as is necessary to make such improvement a complete job and levying and assessing the amount thereof against the parcels and iots of land and parts thereof between the termini and in the boundary of such said street and other property as shown on said assessment roll and providing for the col!eotion thereof and fixing hhe date for the issuance of the bonds and payment thereof. THE CITY COUNDIL 0~ THE CITY 0~ BRE~RTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Sec, 1. That the ~ssessment roll for 'coal improvement District ~o. 92 for the improvemen~ of Washington Avenue co~aencing'at the north margin of Burwell Street the north margin of Ninth Street by clearing, grubbing, grading, constructing, alter- ing or low,ring main and lattsral' sewers providing for ~he drainage thereof, and con- structing curbs and gutters and by paving with a one-course concrete pavement or such csmen~ mixture as is equal in solidity and wearing qualities to concrete, together with any and all other work ~o finish the Job in a good and workmanlike manner, and do such other amd further work in co~mection therewithas is necessary ~o make such improvemen~ a templets job, all in accordance with plans and specifications prepared bythe 0i~y ~ngineer of the City of Bremerton, on file in his office and in the o:ffice o£ the City Clerk off the City of Bremerton, as provided by ordinance ~o. 632, be and ~he same is hereby approved. Sec. 2. That each parcel and lot of land and part thereof named in said assess- ment roll is especially benefitted by aid improvement, and that there be a~d is here- by assessed a~inst each parcel and lot of land and part thereof, and other pro?~rty contained in said Improvement District as shown in said roll the respective amounts in said roll set agains~ each said parcel or lot of land or ~art thereof, and other property between the termini of said improvement upon, adjacent or aoproximate to said street, and such amounts are hereby declared a firs~ lien against each par eel or lot of land or par~ thereof against which the same isasssssed in said roll. Sec. 5. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby created and established a spedial fund to be kno~vn and called "iocal Improvemant ~und District Bo. 92." Said bonds shall be issued in serial numbers from one to both inclu- sive, or m~ many thereof as may be necessary to pro~Rde for the uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owing in said dis~riet, on said date, same to be in ~ums of $100.00 each, exoept the first, which will be for such fractional part off ~100. as may be remaining and due and unpaid. Sec. 4. That the ~Sth day of January, ~. D. 1920, is hereby fixed for the date of issuance ~:~nd sale of ~..he Bonds to be issued on account of said improvements. That any person or persons owning any pro,perry situated in said ~istrict against each such lo~s, tracts and parcels' of land and other property or any portion of such sum within thirty days from the date of ~he a~proval of this assessment roll, to-wit: thirty days from the 24th day of i~ovember, 1919, and thereafter the s~ remainin un- paid may be paid in equal installments with interes~ on th~ w.ohle un~aid s~ so charge~ a~ the ra~e of seven per cent per ann~. Sec. 5, This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from five day s after its pass'age, approval ~d publication.
