AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of Fifth Street from the west n~rgin
of Pacific Avenue to the east margin of Park avenue, by the laying of cables and
construction of electric lighting poles and the establishment of a complete.electric,
lighting system along the said street, and the doing of such other work and f~rthe~~
work in connection with the same as to make such imi~rovement a complete Job. All,in
Accordance with the Palns and specifications prepared by the City engineer and on
file in his office and in the office of the City Clerk of Bremerton, and in aeoordan~
with the petition of the owners of two-thirds of tile fro~t footage abutti~lg on said
improvement to be r~ade by s~?ecial assessments u~on 'the property abutting and contigt~OuS
~to said improvements. Payable by mode of bonds.
The City Council of the City of Bremerton do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That Fifth Street from the west margin of Pacific avenue, to the east'
margin of Park street be improved by the laying of an electric lightiz~g cable, and
struction of electric lighting poles and the installation of a complete electric li~ht-~
lng system and to do such work as may be necessary to make said construction a complete
job, all in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the office of
the City Clerk.
Sec. 2. That all cost and expense of said improvement, including all necessary
,and incidental expenses shall be borne by and assessed against the property included
in the assessment district hereinafter created in accordance with the law.

T~e City of Bremerton shall not be liable inany manner for any portion of the cost
and expense of said improvement.
Sec. 3. That there is hereby created a local improvement district to be called
Local Improvement District No. lO1, the boundaries of which district are hereby
specified and described as follows:
Commencing at the northwest corner of Pacific avenue and Pifth street, thence
north to the middle of block 16, plat of Bremerton; thence west to the east margin
of Park avenue; thence south along the east margin of Park avenue to the center line
of block 15, plat of Bremerton; thence east along the middle of block 15 to Pacific
avenue; thence north alonE the west margin of Pacific avenue to the point of beginning
Sec. 4. That said cost and expehse of said improvement shall be assessed
a2.ainst said property included in said improvement district in proportion with the
area and in accordance with the provisions of section 2, chapter 168 of the Session
Laws for the State of Washington for 1915.
Sec. 5. Bonds bearing interest at the. rate of seven per cent. per annum,
payable on or before lO years from the date of issuance, ~hall be issued in pa~rment
of the cost and expense of said improvement, which bonds shall be redeemed by the col-
lection of Special assessments to be levied and assessed upon the property within
said district, payable in eight equal instal~ents with interest at the rate of
seven per cent. per annum, under the mode of payment by bonds, as defined by law and
ordinance of the City of Bremerton.
These bonds shall be delivered to the contractor in the redemption of warrants
on the local improvement district issued on the estimate of the City Engineer or
the City of Bremerton may, at its election, sell the said bonds and make such re-
demption in cash.
Sec. 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from five days after
its passage, approval and publication.
