AN ORDINANCE to provide for the execution of an extension to ~{ay lQ, 1930 of
a certain contract entered into between the City of Bremerton and the North Pacific
Public Service Company, for the furnishing of electric 0urrent. to said City, by said
Company, pursuant to the provisions of 0rdinanoe No. 685, of said City, approved
~{ay lC, 19~0, including certain amendments of said original contract.
THE CITY COmmISSION O~~ T}~ CITY OZ BRE]~i{TON DO ORDAIN AS ~OLLOWS:
Section 1, That ~he ~ayor be authorized to enter into an agreement wi~h the
North Pacific Public Service Company, in the following words, viz.:
"EXTENTION ~GREE~'~NT
An agreement made and entered into between the City of Bre,-erton, Ki~sap
County, Washington, (hereinafter mentioned as the "City", party of the first
part, and the North Pacific Public Service Company, a corporation, hereinafter
men~ioned as the ~?Company".
This Agreement ~itnesses that Whereas heretofore, and on the 10th day of ~{ay,
19~0, the City and the Company, pursuant to the provisions o~' Ordinance No. 685,
of said Gity, approved ~y lC, 19EO, entered into an agreement for the furnishing
of Electric Ourrent by the Company to the 0ity, for the opera,ion of the ~ater Works
of the City; and
Whereas, said Agreement has expired,and the parties are desirous of extending
~the term of the furnishing of said Electric Current for a further term of five years
from ~ay 10th, 19~5, with the Amendments to said agreement hereinafter set forth.
Now this kgreement Witnesses, as follows, viz:
1. Tha~ for the words "~,'~inimum charge per month, $450." in paragraph 4 of
said original agreement, there be substituted the words, "minim~un charge per month
to be One Dollar per Horse Power for the maximum demand of said
E. That there be added to the body of said agreement a new paragraph, to be
designated as paragraph "10" in the following words to-~it:
"10. That should the uity at any time' during the life of this contract rece-
ive from any other responsible party, an offer in good faith, tO furnish it with
the supply?f electric aurrent herein provided i'or at a lower rate that that con-
rained in Paragraph 4 hereof, the Company will, upon demand of the City, modify
this agreement as to the rate to be paid by the City, to the proposed rate of the
other party, or consen~ to annul this agreement."
S, That the terms and conditions of the said agreement between said City and
said Company, as hereby amended, be and the s~e are hereby continued to, and
including, l~'~y 10th, 19~0.
In %~itness %¥hereof the parties hereto have executed this 'Agreement this ~£d
day of July, 19£5, pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 818 of said City
approved July E~d, 19~5.
