An Ordinance relating to traffi~ in the City of Breme.rton, Washington,
designating certain streets as Arterial Streets: requiring vehicles enetering
or crossing such streets to come to a full stop. and providing penalty for
violation'thereof, and repealing all other ordinances or parts of odrlnances
in conflict herewith, as they effect or conflict with any of the provisions
of th~s oridinance.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE k~A¥OR AND THE CITY C~ISSIONERS OF THE 0ITY
0F BR~ERTON, AS ~OLLOWS:
Section 1: tha~ for the purpose herein provided ~he following named ~~
~streets and portions of streets in the City of Bremerton, Washington,be, and
the same are hereby designated as "Arterial Streets", namely: ~acific Ave.
fromthe North m~rgin of ~ront St.~ to the North margin of Sixth St.: Sixth
St. from ~he West margin o~ Pacific ~ve. thence West to the City Limits.
SectionE: That every person driving or operating any vehicle of any
name, nature or description, entering into Ze or crossing any arterial stree~
as above designated, excep~ along the course of direction thereof, shall
bring such vehicle to a f~ll stop before entering or crossing such Arterial
Streets. and shall no~ proceed un~il he'can do so wi~hou~ danger.
Section ~: Tha~ the Department of Public Safety of said City shall
mark all intersections of t~indi~ated portions of Arterial Streets herein
named with such appropriate~Es will apprise operators of vehicles about to
~ross or enter them of the fact ~hat the same are Arterial Streets and direct
'Such operators to stop their ve~icles at such intersections before crossing.
Section A: That any person violating any of these provisions of this
Ordinance shall be deemed guilty o$ a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by a fine of not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ~$100.00)
or by imprisonment in the City jail for a period not exceeding ~hirty
da~s or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Section §: This ordinance repeals all other ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith as they~effect or come into conflict with any
of the provision~ of this ordinance, and is enacted as an exercise of Police
Power for the protection of property, safety,of drivers and occupants, and
of the public, and for the relief of congested conditions in the Oi~y of
Bremerton.
Sedtin 6: Thism ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty
~80) days from~and after its passage and publication, as provided by l~w,
