AN OP~IN~0E, Limiting the number of licenses to be hereafter issued
by the 0ity of Bremerton, Washington. for the operation of Pool Tables,
Billiard Tables, end Card Tables, Pool Rooms, Billiard Rooms, and Public
Card Rooms.
THE CITY COL~ISSION OP THE CITY OP BREMERTON DO ORDAIN AS POLLOWS-
Section 1. After the passage of ~h~s Ordinance ~ public card room
license nor a license to operate or maintain bill&ard or pool tables shall be
granted at any place within the City of Bremerton where there is not at the
time this ordinance becomes effective a ~ublic card ~oom or a billiard
or pool room in pperation and working under a valid and subsisting license
granted by the City Commission, nor until the namber of public c~rd rooms
billiard or pool rooms has been reduced to ~en (10j and the number of card
tables now in operation an, i maintained have been reduced to sixt,~five
~65) and the number of pool or bill~d tables now operated and ~aintained
has been reduced to forty five (45); t~rovided, however, that when the
population of the City of Bremerton is officially placed at more than
~en thousand population, the number of public card rooms, billiard or pool
rooms may be increased, but not to exceed one for each two thousand
population: provided further that the City Commission may in its discretion
grant a public card room license or billiard or pool table license to any
person buying out an existing card room, billiard or pool room business,
or it may grant a re-newal to;zany person so liceased at the same, or at
a new location: but no person having sold his public card room or billiard
or pool room to another person shall again be licensed until the number
of public card rooms, billiard rooms or pool rooms and the number of card
tables or pool or billiard tables is reduced below the number specified
'in this section, or until the population of the City of Bremerton has increase
so
that additional licenses may be granted in confirmity with the provisions
contained in th~s section.
Section 2: THIS ORDIN2~NCE shall be in full force and effect thirty
days from and after its passage and p~bl~cation, as provided by law.
Passed by the City Commission, signed by the Mayor. and attested
by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 21 St. day 6f
July 1926
