AN ORDINANOE establishing that certain fSre stations of the City of Bremer~on
formSrly known as the City Hall of Charleston and being located on ~Vycoff Avenue b tween
~arragutt and Rogers Streets,and also that certain f~re station located in what is known
as West Bremerton and being near the Post Office in said 'f~est Bremerton_as parts of the
City Olerk's office.for the registration of qualified electors of the City of Bremsrton
on the August 15-16-17 and 18 of August,1928, from the hour;:of five O'Clock P.M.
the hour of Nine O'Clock on such days; declariSg that an eme'rgency exists and pro~[ding
that this Ordinance take effect ommediately after its passage and publication.
~HEREAS,the books ~of registration of said City of Bremerton will be closed
at midnight on the 21st day of August,1928,for the registration of vo~ers and;whereas
there is approximately over three thousand qualified voters in said ~ity and apprc ~imately
only fifty per cent have registered; and whereas there will be a general primary election
on the llth day of September,1928. and whereas it is deemed to be conducive to the promotion
of the public interest that encouragement be given for securing the registration cf a
large percentage of the qualified electors residing within said $ity andthat more convenient
means be provided to en~ble all such qualified electors to enter their registration as
required by law; and whereas an emergency exists.
NO~ THERF~ORE IT IS HEREB~ ORDAINED B~ THE CITY COMMISSION O~ THE CIT~
BREMERT ON, ~ASHIN GTON;
Section 1. That on the days of the month of August,19ES,herein set forth
that there be and hereby is established as parts of the office of the City Clerk n
addition ~o his office at the City Hall,that certain l~ire Station located on Wyoo !f Avenue
betwee~mrr~gatt and Rogers Streets in said City of Bremerton, said i~ire ~tation
being heretofore known as the Charleston City Hall,and also that certain ~ire Sta .ion
located in what is known as '~¥est Bremerton and being near what is knSwn as the ~Ve~
Bremerton Post Office,for the registration of qualified voters; thus affording inlending
registrants a more convenient place to enter their registration. The days on which
said branch off,cee of the Ci~y Clerk's Office shall be maintained for the purpos~ oi
registration are as follows:
~or Precincts No 1E and No 1Z of the City of Bremerton at
said ~ire Station located on Wycoff Avenue between ~arragutt and Rogers Streets o~ the
l~-16-1? and 18 of August 19~8,from the hours of 5 P.M.~o 9 P.~.
· or Precinct~No l~,at the ~ire Station in what is commoml
known as East Bremerton on the l§-16-1?-and 18 of August 19~8, from the hours of P.~I.
tO 9 P.M.
Section No 2. An emergency exists and this Ordinance shall be in fu 1
force and effect from and after the day of its passage and publication.
