'~;~REAS,~he City Cor~nission of the City of Bre~nerton,',?ashington,has
made an' investigation of the s~ructur~l s~rength of the ~,[~icipal '~';harf of
said Ci~y,and its approach thereto,at the end of Front or First S~reet; and
:f;~i{E~S, ~hey find from such investigation that Trucks, Auto~obiles,
other vehicles and objects h~ving a gross weight of ~wenty-four ~housand
[24.000) ponds going over, u,pon or across s~id wharf,and its a~proach,c~iuse
great damage ~here~o and endanger the s~fety of s~id wharf and its a??roach;
NOW, THEI~P0!~E,IT IS ~i-~Y ORDAIt~D BY T~ CITY C0i,~,~ISSIONERS OF
THE CITY 0F BidE~,~i{TON,AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. That it sh~ll be unlawful from and after t~e 20th d~y of
Ea, y 1928, for ~ny person,firm or corporation,to drive ,propel,draw,move ,convey
or ~ransport or cause ~o be driven,propelled,dr~wn,moved, conveyed or tr~nspor~ed
over,upon,along or across ~he E~icip~l ~Yharf (a~ ~l~e end of Front or 2irst
S~reet), and .its approach thereto,any truok,aut~]obile or vehicle,or other object,
which wi~h or without its load shall be in excess of twenty-four thous~nd
{2~,000) ponds,and s~Id ~iunicipal '~'Yhsrf and i~s ep.[~roach t~eretc~,ts hereby
closed from the 20th day of ~,[ay,t928.to said trucks,Automobiles or vehicles,or obJ ~c~s,
whose gross weight, including load,is more than twenty-four thousand [£4.000.)'poun[s.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk of s~id city be ~%nd he is hereby directe~ to
give such notice of such closing in at leas.t one issue of the official newsp~.~per of
said City,printed and published in s~.~id City,of Bremerton,and by mpOSting notice on r pr:
to. the date of publda~ia~ of such notice in a conspicuous place on the ~unicipal ~;h~rf,
of s~id City and at the entrance of the ap~roach of said Diunicipal' Wharf,
SECTION 3. That any person,firm or corporation violating this Ordinance or
any portion thereof sh~ll be deemed ~il~;y of.a misdemeanor and may be ptu~ished by
fine not exceeding One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars,or imprisonment not exceeding ~hir y
~, 30)days,or both such fine and imprisonment,
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty [30
days from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
