AN 0RDINAN~E rela~ing to and providing for "Dayligh~ Saving" and adopting
S~andard Time for ~he City of Bremerton, and declaring an emergeney.
BE IT 0~AI~D BY THE CITY C0~,,BJiISSION 0~ T~ CITY OP BRE}~RTON~
as follows:
Sec~ion 1. That ~here be and is hereby adopted as ~he S~andard Time for
~ke 0i~y of Bremen%on ~he mean astronomical ~ime of the one hundred ~wen~ieth
~egree of. longitude wss~ from greenwich, heretofore known and designated bY
Ac~ of 0ongress of Ma~oh 19, 1918, as the United S~a~es S~anda~d Pacific Time.
Sea,ion 2. Tha~ ~he S~andard Time herein provided for shall govern the
o~ning and closing of all city public offices ~hsrs. in; and in all provisions of
Ohar~er and Ordinances of ~he City of B~ems~f~on~.ja~d Sh all o~de~s, ~ules and
regulations p~suan~ thereto, rel~i'ng ~o 'f~s,L.'~fme.'.['of .~.erformanc~ of any act by any
person o~ by any officer or official d~Par%~h~df ~h~ ..0i~y of B~emerton, or
rela~ing to ~he ~ime within which any righ~ shall accrue or &e~ermine, or within
which any a6~' ShallJ'.br shall no~ b~ performed by any person pursuan~ to the
0ha~er or Ordinances of the Gi~y of B~emer~on, i~ shall be ~de~s~ood and in-
~ended ~hs~ the ~ime within which the aa~ is or i~not ~o be performed, or such
rights shall accrue or de,ermine, shall be the S~and~rd Time of ~h.e Ci~y~of
~eme~ton, as hereby adopted.

Section 4. ?;he~eas, owing to ~he lack of s~shine drying ~he win~er
months in Bremer~on, ~here is an ~gen~ demand for as many hours of stu~shine
during ~he stm~er.mon~hs ~s i~ is possible ~o obtain, all in ~he in~eres~ of
~he health of ~he children and ad'ul~e alike; ~hmreby crea~ing an emergency,
which is hereby declared ~o exist, in which i~ is necessary for ~he i~e~iate
preservation of ~he public peace, health and s~e~y ~ha~ this ordinance become
effective wit:hou~ delay.
Section 5. By reason of ~he facts se~ forth in ~his ordinance, an emer-
gency is deela, red ~o exist, ~herefore this ordinance shall ~ake effee~ i~ed-'
ia~ety upon i~s passage, approval and publication as provided by ~he taw.
