~ ORDIN~LNCE governing ~r~ffic at intersections where ~raffic
signals are installed, prohibiting the crossing of c~rt~.in streets
he,ween in~er~ections, providing penalties for violation thereof
and declaring an emergency to exist.
The city Commission of ~he ~ity of Bremerton do ord,,in as
f~ otlcws:
Section 1. I~ shall be unlawful for any person, either as a
pedestrain or driving or opera~ing a motor ve~hicle, horse drawn vehicle
or any vehicle of any kind or nature to enter or cross an intersection
where ~rai'£ic signals are installed while ~he traffic ligh~ on such
intersection shows a red '~.igh~ toward the s~reet on which such pedes~rain ~
driver er operator of such vehicle is proceeding.
~ec~ion E. I~ shmll be unlav~ful for. any pedes~raln-to cross
~acific Avenue between Pirs~ S~reet and Sixth Stree~ and ~irst S~ree~
between Nashing~on Avenue and Pacific Avenue between intersections.
Section 8. Any parson violating ~his ordinance shall, upon
convlctian, be fined in a sum ~ot more ~han $100500, or by bo~h such fine and
impr is enmen~,
Section 4. Anemergency exists, ~nd this Ordinance is necessary for
~he preservation of ~he pu ~lic peace and s~£~ety. ~nd Zife and property in ~he
Oi~y ef Bremer~on, and sha_~l become effective i.~mediately upon its pac,.sage and
publ ica ~i on.
