AN ORDINANCE regulating the installation of oil burning an& other
mechanical fuel devi~es ~nd equipment, together with storage tanks pro-
viding for ~he issuance of permits and for ~he inspection of such install-
a~ion by the ~ire Ohief, and providing penalties for__viola~ion thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CO~.~ISSION O~ THE CITY O~ BREMERTON
as f~llows:
Section t. I2 shall be ttulawfut for any pe~son, firm or corporation
to make or ins~ll any oil burning equipmen~ or any other mechanical device
used to burn fluid, fuel of wha~ soever kind, or nature or for Shatsoever
purpose in any dwelling h.~use, hotel, apartment house, factory or o~her
structure within the Octet)orate limits of the City of Bremerton withou~ having
first obtained a permi~ for such p~rpo,.~e from the building departmen~ of the
~ity of Bremerton as hereinafte~ provided.
Section 2, The rules and regulations adopted by the National Board of
~ire Underwriters now on file s. nd ,~.~ the same may be hereafter amended be
and the same are hereby adopted in de~il as the rules and regulations ~o be
infcrced in t?~e City of Bremerton in ~he nzanner, method a~ safeguard in the
installation of oil and liguid fuel burning equipment and the storage there-
of as a pa~t of this Ordinance,~o ~he same effec~ as tho~set~forth in detail
herein.
Section 3. The person, firm or corpor:~%tion employed tO '~nstall such
oil or other liquid fuel burning equipment of whatsoever kind or nature or !:
the owner of ~he premise~ if installed ~ him, shall, prior to such ins~all-
ation, appl~~ ~:t the office of the Building inspecfor ~herefor,.and shall
pay a fee of $~,.~000 ~or the issuance o£ a permit for the installation of
each compl~ te unit.
Section 4. The Fire Ohief sh.~ll be notified by the person installing such
apparatus when such work is re~dy for inspection, and all such work shall be
left uncovered until inspected and approved by the ~ire ~hief of. the City
of Bremerton, No suchno!;ice sh~ll be sent for inspection until the work is
entirely ready for inspection.
Section '5. Any pe¥.son, firm or corporation violating or failing to
comply with any of the p~ovisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed' guilty
of a Misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall he punished by a fine in
any sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars, or by Imprison~,~ent in the City
~ail for a pefiod no~ exceeding thirty. ~30) days, or bj:? ~.oth such'fine and
imprisomme~t.
Section 6. All ~rdinances and part of ~rdinances in conflict herewith
he and the same are hereby repealed'.
Section ?. This ~rdinanee shall be in full force and effect ~hirty ~3:,.~):
