AN ORDINANCE approving and adopting the assessment roll for Local Improvement
District No. 139, under Ordinance No. 1078 providing for the improvement of
Pennsylvania Avenue, Hewitt Avenue, Eighth Street, Ninth Street, Tenth Street,
Eleventh Street, by installing sewers and sewer pipes therein as in said ordinance
described, the levying and assessing of costs thereof against the parcels and lots
of land between the termini and within the boundaries of said improvement and
providing for the collection thereof, and fixing the date for the issuance of
bonds in payment thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0~v~ISSION OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 139,
providing for the improvement of Pennsylvania Avenue from the center line of
Eighth Street North to the center llne of Eleventh Street; Hewitt Avenue from a
point 40 feet north of the north margin of Sixth Street north to the center line
of Eleventh Street; Eighth Street from the center line of Roosevelt Avenue east
to the center line of Hewitt Avenue; Ninth Street from a point approximately
60 feet east of the east margin of Roosevelt Avenue East to the center line of
Hewitt Avenue; Tehth Street from a point approximately 60 feet east of the east
margin o2 Roosevelt Avenue east to the center line of Hewitt Avenue; Eleventh
Street from a point approximately 60 feet east of the east margin of Roosevelt
Avenue east to the center line of High Avenue, as revised; by laying, con-
structing, and installing sewers and sewer pipes therein, of various diameters,
together with side sewers where requested, and storm drain appurtenances, together
with the doihg of any and all other work in connection therewith as may be
necessary to make such improvement a complete Job, all in accordance with the
plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk, and as provided
by and described in Ordinance No, 1079, be and the same is hereby approved and
confirm6d.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof as shown in
said assessment roll is specially benefited by said improvement, and that there
be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part thereof
and other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll,
including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amounts
in said roll set against each parcel or lot of and/or part thereof, and other
property between the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or
proximate to said street, and such amounts so assessed are hereby declared to b6
first lien against each parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the
same is assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Improvement
Fund, District No. 139". Bonds shall be issued in serial numbers from One
to both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the
uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owing in said district
on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of One Hundred
Dollars each, except the first, which shall be for such fractional part of
One Hundred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable
from said "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 139"
Section 4. That the first day of July, 1936, be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on
account of said improvement.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED By the City Commission, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this second day of May, 1936.
