AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bremert~n, State of Washington, accepting and
incsrporating into the corporate limits of the City of Bremerton certain land,
now outside of the City of Bremerton in Kitsap County, Washington, and contiguous
to the City of Bremerton which said described tracts voted to enter the City of
Bremerton as part of the corporate limits of said city on September 18, 1937,
at an election especially called for the people in these districts to determine
whether they desired to remain as part of Kitsap County or be incorporated within
the limits of the City of Bremerton, and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0~ISSION OF THE CITY OF BREN~RTON:
Section 1. That the County Commissioners of the County of Kltsap, State of
Washington, called a special election for the territories hereinafter described,
and submitted to them the question as to whether they desired to remain in and be
a part of Kitsap County, outside of Bremerton, Washington, or whether they desired
to be incorporated within the City of Bremerton. That a certified copy of the
returns of said election is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City
of Bremerton, signed by the three County Commissioners and attested by the Clerk
of said board, which recites, among other things, that at said election each of
the districts hereinafter described, by a majority vote, attested their desire
of being taken into the corporate limits of the City of Bremerton.
Section 2. That the said City Commission has passed a resolution declaring
it to be to the best interests of the City of Bremerton that the said tracts be
taken into the corporate limits of the City of Bremerton and directing the City
Attorney to prepare an ordinance adopting and incorporating said tracts as a
part of the corporate limits and part of the City of Bremerton;
NOW, THEREFORE, the following described tracts of land, above mentioned,
are hereby and by this ordinance adopted and incorporated within and to become
a part of the City of Bremerton, and the description of said tracts are as follows;
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of
Naval Avenue and Eleventh Street; thence North along
the centerline of Naval Avenue, produced, 2830 feet,
more or less, to the Government meander line; thence
continuing North along the centerltne of Naval Avenue,
produced, to its intersection with the centerline of
Port Washington Narrows; thence Southeasterly along
the centerline of Port Washington Narrows to its inter-
section with the centerline of Chester Avenue, produced;
thence South to the Government meander line; thence
continuing South along the centerline of Chester Avenue,
1790 feet, more or less, to a point 1E0 feet North of
the North margin of Eleventh Street; thence West along
a line 120 feet North of and parallel to the North
margin of Eleventh Street 1315 feet, more or less, to
the centerline of High Avenue; thence South along the
centerline of High Avenue 150 feet to the centerline
of Eleventh Street; thence West along the centerline
of Eleventh Street, 1309 feet, more or less, to the
point of beginning, ALSO
Beginning at the intersection of the city limits of
the City of Bremerton at Ninth Street and Callow Avenue;
thence North along the centerline of Callow Avenue,
1996.6 feet, more or less, t0the intersection of Fifteenth
Street and Callow Avenue; thence East along the center
l~ne of Fifteenth Street, 1053.35 feet, more or less, to
a point which is the intersection of Fifteenth Street
and the line of the city limits extended; thence South
along the city limits, 1996.6 feet, more or less; thence
along the city limits, West, 1053.35 feet, more or less,
to the point of beginning.
~ection 3. That an emergency is hereby declared for the putting into effect
of this ordinance, and the City Commissioners hereby declare it is for the best
interest of the City of Bremerton that this ordinance shall take effect and be
in full force from and after its passage and publication.
PASSED by the City Commission, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City
Clerk in authentication thereof this 2nd day of October, 1937.
