HomeMy WebLinkAbout1147 ORDINANCE NO. 1147 AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 149 created and established by Ordinance No. 1103 providing for the improvement of Fifth Street from the East margin of Pacific Avenue to tile West margin of '~ashington A:venue, and the alleys running North and South, and East and West in Block Five, and the alleys running North and South and East and ~est in Block Six, Original Town of Bremerton, in accordance with the maps, plans and spec- ifications as in said ordinance described; providing for the levying and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels and lots of land between the termini and within the boundaries o~ said improvement district; providing for the collection thereof; creatin~ and establishing a special fund therefor and fixing the date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof. TT BE IT 0~DAINED BY T,E CITY COI¥~'~ISSION OF THE CITY OF BRE]iERTON AS FOLLO~S: Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 149, providing for the improvement of Fifth Street from the East margin of Pacific Ave- nue to the West m_argin _of ~/~ashington Avenue, alleys running North and South and East and West in Block Five, and the alleys running North and South and East and West in Block Six, Original To~m of Bremerton, by clearing, grubbing, grading and paving with a one course concrete pavement, six inches thick as follows; Fifth Street, ~0 feet wide, and each of the four alleys 14 feet wide, and the construc- tion of concrete curbs, the adjusting of water mains with connections thereto, the construction and adjustin,T of inlets, catch bas~ns, manholes, and flush tanks, pro- viding for the drainage of all of said alleys and streets, together with the doing -of any and all other work as may be necessary to make such improvement a comt~lete job, all in accordance with the plans a~d slecification~ cn file in the o?~ice of the City Clerk, and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1103, be and the same is hereby in all things approved and confirmed. Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shovm in said assessment roll is specially benefited by said improvement, a~nd that there be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part thereof and other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll, including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amounts ~n said roll set a~:-~inst each parcel or lot of and/or part thereof, and other pro~perty be- tween the termini of aaid improvement abutting upon, adjaceut or proximate to said street, and such amounts, so assessed, are hereby declared to be first lien against each parcel or lot of land or yart thereof, against which the s~:.e is ass~ssed in said roll. Section 3. That for the purpose.~ of this said improvement there is hereby created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 149". Bonds shall be issued in serial ntmibers from One to both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the uncollected portion o? said special assessment due or owing in said dis- trict on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of Two Hun- dred Dollars each, except the first, which shall be for such fractional part of Two Hundred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from said "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 149". Section 4. That the 10th day o~ August, 1937, be and the same is hereby fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account of said improvement. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
