AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Imp-
rovement District No. 181, created and established by Ordinance Bio. 12~5, provid-
lng for the tn~rovement of the Alley in Block 5, Terrell's Addition to Charleston,
lying between Callow Avenue and ~ontgomery Avenue, extending from First Street to
Burwell Street, as in said ordinance described; providing for the levying and assess.
lng of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels and lots of land between
the termini and within the boundaries of said improvement district, providing for
the collection thereof; creating and establishing a special fund therefor and
fixing the date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0~.,$'~ISSION OF THE CITY OF BREI.~ERTON AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 181,
providing for the improvement of the Alley in Block 5, Terrell's Addition to
Charleston, lying between Callow Avenue and l~ntgomery Avenue, extendin~ from
First Street to Burwell Street, by clearing, g~ubbing, grading and paving with one
course concrete pavement, six inches thick and twelve feet wide, providing for the
drainage thereof, together ~ith the doing of any and all other work in connection
therewith as may be necessary to make such improvement a complete job, all in
accordance with the plans and speciffications on file in the office of the Cily
Clerk and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. l~gS, be and the sempe i~
hereby approved and confirmed.
Section g. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof as shown in said
assessment roll is specially benefited by said improvements, and that there be
and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part thereof and
other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll,
including the property belonging to the City of ~remerton, the respective amounts
in said roll set against each parcel or lot of and/or part thereof, and other
property between the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or
proximate to said street, and such amounts so assessed, are hereby declared to be
first lien against each parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the
same is assessed in said roll.
Section $. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund. to be known and ~alled "Local Improvement
Fund, District No. 181". Bonds shall be issued in serial numbers from One to
both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the uncollected
portion of said special assessment due or owing in said district on the date
hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of One Hundred Dollars each,
except the first, which shall be for such fractional part of One Hundred Dollars
as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from said "Local Improve-
ment Fund, District No. 181".
Section ~. That the gOth day of December, 19~8, be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account
of said improvement.
Section ~. This ordinance shall be in fY11 force and effect thirty days
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Commission, signed by the ~!ayor and attested by the City
Clerk in authentication~of such passage this g~th day of October, 1958.
