HomeMy WebLinkAbout1254 ORDINANCE NO. 1254 AN 0RDINA~ICE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Tmprove- ment District No. 178, created and established by 0rdinance No. 1216 providing for the improvement of Tenth Street from Naval Aven~e to Olympic Avenue and Olympic Avenue from midway between Eighth Street and ?~inth Street to the South margin of Eleventh Street, as in said ordinance described; providing for the levying and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels and. lots of land between the termini and within the boundaries of said improvement district; providing for the collection thereof; creating and establishing a special fund therefor and fixing the date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof. BE ZT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0~I~S~0N OF ~TE CITY OF BRE~!iERTON ~ FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 178, providing for the improvement of Tenth Street from Naval Avenue to Olympic Avenue and Olympic Avenue from midway between Eighth Street and Ninth Street to the South margin of Eleventh Street by clearing, grubbing, grading, the construc- tion of sidewalks five (5) feet wide and paving with one course concrete pavement twenty six feet wide on Tenth Street; clearing, grubbing, grading, surfacing and the construction of sidewalks five (5) feet wide on the East side of Olympic Avenue, together with the doing of any and all other work in connection therewith as may be necessary to make such improvement a complete job, all in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk, and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1216, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed. Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof as shown in said assessment roll is specially benefited by said in~rovement, and that there be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part thereof and other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll, including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amounts in said roll set against each parcel or lot of and/or part thereof, and other property between the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or proximate to said street, and such amounts, so assessed, are hereby declared to be a first lien against each parcel or lot of lan~ or part thereof, against which the same is assessed in said roll. Section ~. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is her'eby created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Improvement ffund, District ~io. 178". ~onds shall be issued in serial ntm~bers from One to both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the uncollected portion of said special assessments due or owing in said district on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of One Hundred Dollars each, except the first, which shall be for such fractional part of One i!undred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from said "Local Improvement ~'und, ~istrict ~o. 178 ". Section 4. That the 20th day of December, 1938, be and the same is hereby fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account of said improvement. Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
