AN ORDtNANCE providing for the improvement of Marguerite Avenue from
Fifteenth Street North to its intersection with Thompson Drive, in accordance
with the maps, plans and specifications on file in the office of the Oity 01erk,
establishing an improvement district, providing For the levying of assessments
for the payment of such improvement and making such improvement payable by bonds.
THE CITY C0~I}flSSTON OF THE CITY OF BREk~RTON DO ORDAIN AS FoLLows:
~ection 1, That Parguerite Avenue from ~ifteenth Street North. to its inter-.
section with Thompson Drive be improved by clearing, crubbing, grading, sUrfacinf,
providing for the drainage thereof, installation of street lights, together with
the doing of any and all other work in connection therm~th as may be necessary
to make such improvement a complete job, all in accordance .with maps, ~lans and
specifications now on file in the office of the City Olerk of the City of ~remerton.
Section 2, That the cost and expense of said i~provement shall be borne by
and assessed against the property included in the assessment district hereinafter
created, in accordance ~ith the provisions of Section 9365 of Remington's Revised
Statutes, except such proportion of said cost as shall be borne by )and paid for
by either a ~epartment of the State of ~asbington, or a department of the national.
government created for emergency relief, which proportion of such 'cost and expense
is hereby declared to be in accordance with special benefits conferred upon such
property.
Section ~. There is hereby established and created a local improvement
district to be called and known as "Local I~Drovement District Mo. 189", the
boundaries of which district are described as follows:
Beginning ~t the intersection of the centerlines of
Fifteenth Street and Marguerite Avenue; thence West

Sectiou 4. That the cost and expense of said i~rovemeut to be' borne by
said improvement 'district and exclusive u£ tho D0rtion borne by.either the State
of Washingtou or the United States. Department for ~ergency Relie£, as in ~ectton
2 of this ordinance provided, shall be ussessed ugainst said.property included
ia said improvement district in. proportion to said 'areu, aud ~n accordance with
the provisions of Section 9365 of Remington,s Revised Statutes of the State of
Washington, and the rem~iuder of said cost of the improven~nt is to be paid
by arrangement with either a defartment of the State of LYashington or a department
of the UnttAd States Gove~e~ent as hereiubefore I~rovided.
Section 5. Bonds bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed six per~
cent per annum, payable on or before ten years from the date of issuance, shall
be issued in payment of the cost'and expense of said improvemeut assessed
against the property included in the district hereinabove described, which bonds
shall be redeemed by a collection of special assessments levied and assessed
against the property within said district, payable in equal annual installn~nts,
with interest at the rate of not to exceed 6~ per annum under'the mode of payment
bY bonds as required by law and the ordinances of. the City of Bremerton. These
bonds shall be delivered to the contractor in the redemption of warrants on the
local improvement district fund issued on the estimate of the ~ity. Engineer, 'or.
the City of Bremerton.may,~at its option, sell said bonds either to the United
States Government or to any private person or persons, and make such redemption
in cash.
Section 6. This ordinance shall, after its first reading be placed on f~le
with the 0ity Clerk for a period of at least'one week and shall take effect
thirty days from and after its final reading, passage~and publication as provided
by law.
Passed by the City Commission of the Ci%y of Bremerton on first reading this
sixth day of August, 1938,
PASSED and adopted oh second reading this 20th day of August, 1938, signed
