AN ORDINANCE providing for the calling of a spedial election In each
and every precinbt of.the City of Bremerton f6r.thejpurpose..of Submitting
to the qualified electors of said City the proposition~as td whether or not
the City Commission of the City of Bremerton should be ~uthOrized to.levy
an additional'tax of four (4) mills for the year 1939 in.addition to the
fifteen (151 mills allowed by l~w, for the purpose of constructing a fire
station, for the City of Bremerton.

FOLLOW, S:
Section I. That a special election be and the same~is hereby called
in each and every of the precincts of the City of Bremerton to be held on ·
Tuesday, the 8th day of November, 1938, between the hours of.8 o'clock A.E.
and 8 o'clock P.M. of said day, for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified electors of said City the l~roposition as to whether the City'
Co~Eission of the City of Bremerton shall be authorized to levy a tax of
four (4) mills on all the taxable property in the City of Bremerton for the
year 1939, in addition to the fifteen (15) mills allowed by law for general
purposes, for the purpose of constructing a fire station upon the property
owned by the said City on Pacific Avenue North of Eighth Street, on the West
side thereof.
Section 2. That said election shall be held on the eighth day of
November, 1938, between the hours of eight o'clock A.M. and eight o'clock
P.N. at the same time and in the same places as the general election for
the election of officers for precinct, county, and state officers of the
State of '~ashington, and. notices thereof shall be given by publication in
a newspaper printed and published in the City of Bremerton, for the period
of not less tha~ once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks prior to .the
said election.

Section 3. The electors of the City of Bremerton are-hereby notified
to vote upon said proposition, and those desiring to vote in favor of the
said proposition shall place a cross (x) in the square opposite the words,
"For special levy". Those desiring to vote against said proposition shall
place a cross (x) in the square opposite the words, "Against special levy".
Section 4. The inspectors and Judges of election of said special election
shall be the same inspectors and judges of election as are appointed for each
of the several precincts within the City of Bremerton for the purpose of con-
ducting the general election held on the same day and at the s.ame places for
the election of the officials above mentioned, and all qualified and legal
voters of the City of Bremerton shall be entitled to vote at said special
election.
Section 5. The City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and direct.ed to
give notice of such election by publication in a newspaper printed and published
in the City of Bremerton for a period of four (4) consecutive weeks prior to~
such election. Such notice shall distinctly state the proposition to be so
sdbmitted and the electors shall be invited thereby to vote upon such proposition
by placing upon their ballots the word "For Special Levy" or "Against Special
Levy", or words equivalent thsreto, and said City Clerk be and he is hereby
further authorized and directed to prepare such special ballots, for such
special election, sufficient in number for such purpose, and such proposition
may be designated thereon as the proposition under a certain number to be voted
at such special election, and other propositions may be included upon such
special ballot and the Mayor and Ct.ty Commissioners may include any other
special election at such time and place without in anywise affecting the
legality of the special election proposed herein, and all such special proposi-
tions as may be submitted to the voters of the City of Bremerton may be under
one notice of election.
Section 6. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty'
(30) days from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
