AN 0RDINANCE providing for the amendment of Section 5 of Ordinance No.
lll9 of the City of Bremerton providing for licenses to building contractors
and providing for additions to this particular section.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0¥1~!SSION OF ~tE CITY OF BR~,~RTON:
Section 1. That Section 5 of Ordinance No. lll9 of the City of Bremerton
pertaining to building contractors be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following:
That there is hereby provided a license for a sub-contractor which license
shall be at the rate of $25.00 per annum and any sub-contractor is defined as
any person contracting certain portions of the work in the construction, alter-
ation, or repair from a general contractor or other sub-contractor for any
stipulated amount. The sub-conteactor's license year shall begin July 1st of
each year and non-transferrable. A sub-contractor is further defined as one
who sub-contracts for such work as excavating, concrete or form work, sheet
metal or furnace work, plastering, brick work, painting, decorating or paper
hanging, tile setting, or any other special line of work not hereinafter
mentioned for which any person sub-contracts for a definite sum.
Each sub-contractor shall classify the particular class of work for which
he desires a license and anyone bi~ding on a job as a whole or what is termed
the first man on the Job shall be a general contractor and his license shall
be as specified.
PASSED by the City Commission, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this fifth day of March, 1938.
