AN 0RDIN_~NCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local
Improvement District No. 140, created and established by Ordinance No. 1084
providing for the improvement of Marlow Avenue from East Sixteenth Street to
the new lateral highway cut-off; new lateral highway cut-off from Marlow
Avenue to ~infield Avenue; Winfield Avenue from lateral highway cut-off to
East Eighth Street; East Eighth Street from Winfield Avenue to Water Avenue;
Water Avenue from East Eighth Street to Trenton Avenue; providing for the levy-
ing and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels and lots
of land between the termini and within the boundaries of said improvement
district; providing for the collection thereof; creating and extablishing a
special fund therefor and fixing the date for the issuance of bonds in payment
thereof.
BE IT O~DAINED BY THE CITY CO~!~IISSION OF THE CITY OF BREkERTON AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 140
providing for the improvement of Larlow Avenue from East Sixteenth Street to the
new lateral highway cut-off; new lateral highway cut-off from Marlow Avenue to
Winfield Avenue; Winfield Avenue from lateral highway cut-off to East Eighth
Street; East Eighth Street from Winfield Avenue to '~ater Avenue; Water Avenue from
East Eighth Street to Trenton Avenue, by cteari, ng, grading, grubbing, concrete
curbs and gutters and providing for drainage, together with the doing of any and
all other work in connection therewith as may be necessary to make such improve-
ment a complete job, all in accordance with the plans and specifications on file
in the office of the City Clerk, and as provided by and described in Ordinance
No. 1084, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof as shown in
said assessment roll is specially benefited by said improvement, and that there
be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part thereof and
other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll, includ-
ing the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the' respective amounts in
said roll set against each p~rcel or lot of and/or part thereof, and othe~ property
between the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or proximate to
said street, and such amounts, so assessed, are hereby declared to be first lien
against each parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the same is
assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund to be kno~n and called "Local Improvemeht
Fund, District No. 140". Bonds shall be issued in serial numbers from One to
both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the uncollected
portion of said special assessment due or owing in said district on the date
hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of One Hundred Dollars each,
except the first, which shall be for such fractional part of One Hundred Dollars
as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from said "Local
Improvement Fund, District t1~o. 140".
Section 4. That the 21st day of April 1938, be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account
of said improvement.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Commission, signed by the mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 26th day of February, 1938.
