AN ORDINANCE amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 770 of the City of
Bremerton, entitled: "An Ordinance to license and regulate the business of
conveying persons, goods and things from place to place for hire by the use
of motor vehicles or vehicles drawn by.horses within the City of Bremerton,
fixing pehalties and repealing Ordinances No. 670 and 688, and all other ord-
inances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith," by adding provisions
to said ordinance making it unlawful for taxicabs, busses and motor vehicles
licensed for the transportation of persons for hire, to carry~trunks or other
articles in any manner except entirely inside taxicabs, busses or motor
vehicles.
THE CITY C0~IISSION OF THE CITY OF BREM~RTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 770 of the City of Bremerton,
entitled as set forth in the title of this ordinance, be and the said Section
2 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2. FOR HIRE.
That "for~ Hire" shall be taken to mean, under the provisions of this
ordinance, all'motor vehicles and vehicles drawn by horses (other than jitneys
and auto stages operating on a regular route and according to schedule) used
for the transportation of persons, goods or things for which transportation
remuneration of any kind is received, either directly or indirectly; and it
shall be unlawful for any taxicab, bus or motor vehicle licensed to transport
persons for hire, to carry any trunk or any other object or thing lashed, tied,
held, or in any way supported on the outside of such vehicle, or to carry the
luggage of any person, unless such luggage can be and is placed entirely within
such ~ehicle.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the
Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authenticatt~on of such passage this
14th day of October, 1939.
