AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local
Improvement District No. 197, created and established by Ordinance No. 1270,
providing for the improvement of Ninth Street from Roosevelt Avenue to Hewitt
Avenue, as in said ordinance described; providing for the levying and assess-
ing of the costs and expense thereof against the parcels and lots of land
between the termini and within the boundaries of said improvement district;
providing for the collection thereof; creating and establishing a special fund
therefor and fixing the date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COM~ISSION 0F THE CITY OF BRE~IERTON AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No.
197, providinE for the improvement of Ninth Street from Roosevelt Avenue to
Hewitt Avenue by clearing, grubbing, grading, paving with one course concrete
pavement six inches thick and twenty-six ~eet wide, providing for the drain-
age thereof together with the doing of any and all other work in connection
therewith as may be necessary to make such improvement a complete job, all in
accordance with the plans 0nd specifications on file in the office of the
City Clerk, and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1270, be and
the same is hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof as shown
in said assessment roll is speciall benefited by said improvements, and that
there be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part
thereof and other property contained in said improvement district as shown
in said roll, including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the
respective amounts in said roll set against each parcel or lot of and/or part
thereof, and other property between the termini of said improvement abutting
upon, adjacent or proximate to said street, and such amounts so assessed, are
hereby declared to be first lien against each parcel or lot of land or part
thereof, against whichthe same is assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is here-
by created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Imp-
rovement Fund, District No. 197". Bonds shall be issued in serial numbers
from One to both inclusive or so many as may be necessary to provide
for the uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owing in said
district on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of
One Hundred Dollars each, except the first, which shall be for such fractional
part of One Hundred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date,
payable from said "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 197".
Section 4. That the 15th day of November, 1939, be and the same is
hereby fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued
on account of said improvement.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Commission, signed by the ~layor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 16th day of September, 1939.
