AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency to eXist on account of the necessity
for employEent of an additional accountant, to be known as "Assistant Treasurer"
by bhe City of Bremerton, and appropriating funds to meet such emergency.
THE CITY OF BREUERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That a public emergency exists in the City of Bremerton clue
to the state of war now existing and the constant influx of population in the
City of Bremerton and the 8reatly increase~ duties of the of£ioe and employees of
the Finance Department of the ~ity of Bremerton, which makes it necessary to emplo~
an a~ltional accountant in the City Treasurer's office, to be known as "Assistant
Treasurer", in order that t he work of the City Treasurer's office may be properly
preformed, and adequate and satisfactory services may be rendered to the City of
Bremerton and its inhabitants.
Section 2. That the said public emergency could not have been foreseen
at the time or'making the budget for the year 1945, and that the sum of
to be paid to said Asstst,n~t Treasurer at the rate of SB~5.O0 per month, beginning
.July ~°8, 194~, t~ and including the month of December, 194~, will be reqt~ired to
'meet such emergency.
Section Z. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to execute
such emergency warrants, not exceeding the said s~nn of $1233.75, for pay~nent of
the salary of such Assistant Treasurer for said period.
Section 4. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to publish
a copy of this ordinance in the official city newspaper i~Jnedtately following the
approval of this ordinance on first rea~!ing.
SectiOn· 5. After approval on first reading, this ordinance shall be read
for final passage at the meeting of the~City Co~mcil one week after the date of
its first reading.
Section 8; That an emergency exists which affects the public peace, health
and safety and this ordinance shall take effect immediately following passage and
publication.

PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, on final
reading, signed by the Uaygr and attested by the City Clerk ~n authentication of
